Anything Goes Kraft Journal Challenge

My new favorite item to use is Kraft lunch bag card stock. I had purchased a sample packet from the Kraft Outlet which includes a variety of products.  I love the vintage look of these papers.  I decided to use the lunch bag card stock as gift wrap.  I wrapped a jewelry box and then cut hearts in various sizes to make the rose paper flowers.  Once the flowers were constructed I spritzed them with a Smooch iridescent shimmer by SU.  I then added the roses to the jewelry box along with a ribbon rose.  I filled in any empty spaces in my bouquet with tulle and Prima leaves.  I added a tag I purchased from the Kraft Outlet which I stamped with a "just for you" stamp from Verve.  The bow is made from a satin ribbon with a brushed silver button adhered to the center.  I thought I could give this to my husband along with a picture of a bracelet I've had my eye on for a while.  Valentines' Day is coming up!  Nothing wrong with giving subtle hints...right?  This was another fun project to do, what a great challenge!   Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Papercraft Star Challenge 30

The challenge over at the Papercraft star blog is to scraplift ANY project from any current Papercraft Star Creative team members blog.  For my project I totally scraplifted off of Regan from Emora Designs.  I just love her mini albums.  My mini album was copied from her TP Christmas Mini Album post you can see HERE.  I altered mine to be a Busy Book for my daughter.  With all the pockets and tags this little mini holds there are alot of things for Ava to discover.  I covered the rolls with paper from "The Girls Paperie".  The tags I use in the pockets were purchased at Michael's dollar bin.  Using dies from Taylored Expression and Verve stamps I cut a variety of tags to fit behind my embellishments that I can add photos to, or journal on.  The ribbon on the rings of the album are also from "The Girls Paperie".  I made a ribbon rose on the cover along with the charm that hangs on the top ring.  I had so much fun making this little album, I hope my daughter enjoys her busy book!  Thank you for such amazing inspiration Regan.

Valentine's Day card

While surfing some of my favorite blogs, I came across this super cute sketch, from the Sketches in Thyme blog.  I used a stamp set from Verve called "Hearts Desire". I paired the stamped images with designer paper from SU and embellished with some pearl accents from Prima.  I distressed some of the edges of the paper and my card was finished.  Love this sketch!  Nap time is almost over so back on mommy duty for me.  Thanks for taking a look.

Kraft Journal Challenge 2

This week's challenge word is :Family".  For this project I made a scrapbook layout of my brand new niece!  Aleyna Rose was born just before Christmas and is growing so fast.  She was born over seas so I haven't met her yet but I look forward to my brother and sister-in-law returning back to the states.  I used printed paper from My Minds Eye along with some tea dyed lace.  I used Kraft card stock to mat the photo and title which I purchased at the Kraft Outlet. I had purchased a sample pack which included a variety of the items the store offers.  The tag and library card and pocket was also purchased from the Kraft Outlet.  I just love the library card and pocket!  I covered the pocket in paper and lace and embellished with pearls.  The card inside makes a perfect place to journal the arrival my my baby niece. The leaves of the roses are from a Tim Holtz die.  I used the lunch bag kraft paper for the leaves and glittered the edges with silver stickles.  I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.  Thank you for taking a peek.

Papercraft Star Challenge 29

Challenge time once again over at the Papercraft Star blog.  Last week I was so excited to be the People's Choice Award winner!  Thank you to everyone who voted.  This week the challenge is to create a project using the colors they have selected along with incorporating two of the following elements:  ribbon, embossing, stamped image, or die cut.  For my card I used a mat stack called Taj Mahal.  This mat stack has beautiful bright colors that worked perfect with this challenge.  I used sizzix dies for the the flower and flourishes, and Spellbinder's Labels 4 die to stamp the sentiment on.  I then added a bow using silk ribbon I had purchased from Taylored Expressions.  The sentiment is from SU which I stamped in Tuxedo Black.  These colors are so dramatic on their own I didn't need to to use too many embellishments. The challenges at this blog are so fun and I love the variety they offer.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping  by.

Mojo Monday Challenge 174

Ah Mojo Monday on a Wednesday!  I need some mojo in the middle of the week.  I'm just about done sending out thank you cards for the gifts my kiddos received and this one came out just darling! Did you happen to see the newest members of the Mojo Monday Crew?  If you haven't take a look at over at the Mojo Monday Blog.  Debbie Carriere and Stephanie Kraft do amazing work, and I look forward to seeing what the crew comes up with each Monday.  Congratulations to these talented ladies. Now on to my entry for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge.  For my card for I used a Taylored Expression stamp set called Penguin Pals.  My son loves penguins right now so this set is getting used quite a bit. I stamped the Penguins first and colored them with Copic markers to match.  I then stamped the smaller penguin and popped her up with a dimensional.  The patterned paper I used is from Basic Grey called Eskimo Kisses, and the snowflakes are from K&Co.   I tied a simple bow with seam binding and stamped the sentiment on the inside.  I hope everyone in having a good week and thank you so much for stopping by.

Hello Old Friend

This past weekend has been such a gray rainy weekend.  Hopefully the sun will make an appearance tomorrow.  My kids miss playing outside.  When the sun finally comes out I can't wait to say, "hello old friend!".. Over at the Playdate Cafe blog there's some amazing inspiration from the design team members and from the entries so far.  It's an instant serotonin fix!  For my card I used a stamp set from Verve called "Love Story."  The patterned paper is from Websters Pages.  I just love the soft vintage look Webester's Pages create.  I used some seam binding I purchased form Memrie Mare and added a flower from Recollections.  I hope everyone has a good work week and thank you for stopping by.

Kraft Journal Challenge

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.  Like predicted the weather here in Central Texas is pretty dreary: (.  I did however get a chance to make a little kraft journal.  Everyday my little boy says the funniest things.  I made this journal so I can record the things he says.  I used a small smooth kraft journal I purchased from the Kraft Outlet.  I distressed the edges with white ink and then adhered some trim along with an embellishment from 7 Gypsy's.  The glittered flourish is from Recollections which I colored with Copic markers.  I then finished it off with some twill I also purchased from the Kraft Outlet, along with a small brown satin ribbon.  I just couldn't resist adding a small butterfly to the center of my bow.  I can't wait for my little boy to come strolling in to my room tomorrow morning!  I can just hear him now...Mama I'm hungry can you make me some dinner?  Every meal is dinner to my little guy!  Thank you for stopping by.

Papercraft Star Sketch Challenge

Good Saturday morning!  With such ugly weather predicted for this weekend I plan on doing a lot of card crafting!  I finished this one last night.  I used some patterned paper from The Luxury Stack by DCWV.  The patterned paper has a variety of soft pastels.  In person they are so pretty, but in photos...well I'm afraid my picture just doesn't do it justice.  I used the sketch from Papercraft Star's blog challenge for this week.  There's a great tutorial for making tissue flowers on the blog that I just had to try out. You can try your hand at making these flowers yourself by viewing the tutorial here.  Each week the challenges are creative and fun.  I love that they post the challenges for the months ahead in the challenge tab of the blog giving readers plenty of time to participate.  I hope everyone has a great and safe weekend, and thanks for taking a peek.

The Sleepy Stamper,

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 173

Good Thursday evening!  The weekend is in sight and it is COLD here in central Texas!  I'm SO not used to this weather.  I will admit it is fun bundling up my kiddos.  They look so cute waddling around.  Although we don't get snow around here much, some super cute snowflakes made their way on to my card for this week's Mojo Monday challenge.  First I distressed my card base all over with craft white ink.  Then I went back and distressed the edges with Antique linen ink by Ranger.  The patterned paper I used is by Prima called Jack and Jill.  The image is from Crafty Secrets Vintage Cuts.  I just love these little images.  With all the variety that comes on one sheet it's easy to put a quick card together.  I embellished with snowflakes by K&Co, along with these little angle wings I purchased from an Etsy store called Memrie Mare.  I hope you all have a good weekend, and thanks for taking a look.

Mojo Monday 172

Just a quiet Sunday in my little house with my little family.  This past Christmas my little girl met her cousin Rhianna for the first time and soon after Rhianna celebrated her first birthday.  This Mojo Monday Sketch was perfect for such a special card.  I used an image from Crafty Secrets called "Birthday Kids".  These images are so sweet, I just love all of them!  The paper is from Girl's Paperie, and My Minds Eye.  Using Spellbinders circles I stamped the little girl and matted it on a doily from Martha Stewart. Using some seam binding and a ribbon rose I added a bow and leaf pin.  I distress most of the edges with Distress inks and added my sentiment.  I hope to send this card along with a little gift to my beautiful baby cousin.  I look forward to my little girl and Rhianna having more play dated together!  Thanks for stopping by.

Papercraft Star Challenge 27

Happy New Year everyone!  I've been taking a holiday break and am now ready to challenge up!  This weeks challenge over at the Papercraft Star blog is to create a project inspired by your New Year's resolutions.  How are you doing on yours?  This year I want to scrapbook more.  I want to record all the little things about my kiddos.  How fast they grow!  Also I want to use the supplies I have on hand.  I am so guilty of purchasing new items then not wanting to use them. I know it makes no sense!  For this project I used a photo of my little girl.  I used a light gauge wire to make the button flowers.  Then using some pinking shears I cut out leaves from text paper and pink satin ribbon.  Adding a few pieces of various lace I embellished around the photo and title in the corner.  What a great challenge I look forward to seeing all the other entries and the upcoming challenge over at the Papercraft Star blog!
