Life is just a bowl of cherries

Good Monday morning once again!  Are you ready for another challenge from The Kraft Journal?  This week's challenge is a sketch challenge.

For my card I followed the sketch starting with Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock from the Kraft Outlet.  Next I matted patterned papers from October afternoon.  For my image I used a Pure Innocence stamp from MFT.  Isn't she just so adorable!  I stamped it on some Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.

I added some hand stained Aqua Bias Tape bow and created an embellishment using Yellow Baker's Twine.  I added a glue dot to the top of a half back pearl and wound the baker's twine on the top of the pearl.  This is such a fun sketch and I hope you have a chance to play along.  Thank you for stopping by and have a great week!

Cherries

Good Monday morning!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!  This week over at the Kraft Journal we have a "die" challenge for you.  For my card I used a die to create this scalloped card.  I started out with some Blackboard Stock Paper and cut it just shy of the scalloped die cutting edge.  I then matted patterned paper for Stampin Up (retired).  Using a paper doily I cut it in half and adhered it on the patterned paper.  I then created a frame using a Spellbinders nesting labels die.  The stamped image is from a Taylored Expressions stamp set.  I then colored it with Copic markers.

Using some Hand Stained Bisas Tape in Mint Green I made a bow and added a multi-looped bow with some Earthy Hemp Cord.  A button sticker from the Hodge Podge Magpie Sticker sheet.  A simple bow made from some Black Baker's Twine is treaded through the button sticker.  I just love the bright colors used in this card!  A bit different from the color scheme I usually use but I'm happy with it.  I hope you give this challenge a try.  For more inspiration please stop by The Kraft Journal blog a see what the other designers have created!  Thank you for stopping by and have a great Monday!

All About Love

It's Monday once again and at the Kraft Journal we have another fun challenge for you.  This week's challenge is all about "love".

For my project I created a file folder card using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board.  I used a tutorial I found on You Tube from Patty Bennet.  You can see the tutorial here.  My friend Iley from A Blend Of Life first told me of these super fun cards.  Thank you Iley!

I first started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock for my base. I then added some patterned paper form Authentique.  I then adhered half of a paper doily to the bottom.  Once I had the doily in place I added some Hand Stained Bias Tape in Rose Beige from The Kraft Outlet.  I tied a simple bow and added a multi-looped black bow from the Earthy Hemp Cord set.

Next I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo black using a stamp from Verve.  I then cut it out using a Spellbinders die and matted it with some Black Board Stock paper.  I popped the sentiment up with some pop dots and added a bling flourish from Recollections.  The flower was adhered to the bottom of the sentiment and some Vintage Dictionary Pages leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  This was such a fun card to create and I'm already making others!  I hope you give this challenge a try.  I'd love to see what you create!  Be sure to stop by the blogs of our wonderful design team members for further inspiration.

Be My Valentine

Good Monday morning!  I'm here to share with you a card I made for The Kraft Journal "Here's my Heart" challenge.  For my card I started with a Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock.  I then matted patterned papers form Authentique's Smitten 6x6 paper pad with some black cardstock.  Using Black Baker's Twine I wrapped it around the heart and key paper and tied a multi-loop bow.  I adhered the matted paper pieced down to the card base and tucked some lace from my stash in between.  I then stamped the black gingham frame using a MFT stamp set and cut out using coordinating "Well Worn" die.  The sentiment from Verve stamps was stamped in Real Red ink and popped up.  The flower was made from Lunch Bag Cover Weight Cardstock using a Sizzix rolled flower die.  Using a Martha Stewart punch I added leaves also from the Lunch Bag Cover Weight Cardstock.

Love this card!  I look forward to seeing how you are inspired by this challenge!
